What is the Killara Program?
It is a Psychiatric Disability Support Program funded by Mental Health Branch; Department of Human Services. It provides psychosocial rehabilitation for people over 64, recovering from a mental illness.
What we do?
The program offers home based outreach support to people in their own home, while supporting them to stay linked into community activities and services of their choice. Our mission is to support the emplowerment of older people living with a mental illness to identify goals, develop skills and utilise resources within their community to enhance their quality of life.
What sort of support does the Killara Program offer?
Who can access the program?
This program is available to people recovering from a mental illness, over 64 who live within the cities of Glen Eira, Port Phillip and Stonnington.
In partnership with Caulfield Aged Psychiatry and City of Port Phillip Aged Care.
How to access the program?
The referral process is usually initiated by telephone. Referrals can be made to the program by health professional, self referrals and or family / carer.
The program is a free service. However some of the activities you choose to participate in within another agency may incur a cost. Involvement in the program is voluntary.
