Multicultural Access and Support

 

Prahran Mission understands that cultural and language barriers may restrict communication and access to appropriate information and support.

 

The Multicultural Access and Support program (MCAS) supports people from diverse cultural backgrounds (CALD) to access appropriate mental health, community and disability support services.

 

We provide support to people from diverse cultural backgrounds by offering:

 

• Individual and Family support, including information, referral and support.

• Mutual support and Self Help, groups that meet regularly and include a Multicultural Social Support Group and those groups in the Second Story program.

• Community Education includes English as a Second Language groups and sessions that promote mental health and the rights of service users and their families. 

Prahran Mission is committed to working collaboratively with mental health and ethnic services to promote and support access for people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
