Scottsdale Residential Program
Scottsdale Psycho-social Rehabilitation and Support Service (PDRSS) is a long tern residential service situated in Alma Road East St Kilda.
Based on psych-social principles and the recovery model, Scottsdale offers a 16 bed residence and 8 independent living units in partnership with Housing Choices Australia.
The 16 bed residence is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week. All meals are provided and staff are available to assist with daily living skills, personal and practical support. A support worker is available to assist residents to plan and support their journey of recovery. There is also a dedicated activities worker for outings and transport assistance and this program is supported by Sacred Heart Mission.
The 8 units are available for tenants who require a little support to live independently. The one bedroom units are fully equipped and two have been adapted for disability access. A support worker assists tenants with their recovery plans and community meetings are held on a regular basis.
Scottsdale presents a culture which encourages residents and tenants to enhance their connections with families, carers, community and practical supports. All participants will be provided with support to:
· Achieve individual goals; · Help improve daily living skills and encourage independence ; · Help reduce the symptoms of mental illness to a point where they can be managed with less support and improved quality of life; · Reduce the need to go to hospital · Become an active member of the local community; and
All residents and tenants enter into a tenancy agreement with Housing Choices Australia and have access to 24 hour support. Scottsdale works in collaboration with Area Mental Health Services, The Alfred Hospital Psychiatry team and Inner South Community Health Service.
