The Wynnk program provides a psycho social rehabilitation program to the residents at Wynnstay and Kinkora Hostels. It is funded by the Department of Human Services, Mental Health Branch.

 

Wynnk works in partnership with MHAV Hostels who own and operate the hostels. Each hostel resident has the opportunity to participate in rehabilitation programs that include social and recreational activities and educational groups. Each of these activities has the goal of supporting residents to live as independently as possible and maintain connections with community and family networks. This is achieved through the development of Individual Program Plans, where people identify what goals they would like to achieve, how and by whom.

 

Additionally, these programs are designed to increase residents social, emotional and physical wellbeing and assist them to manage the effects of their psychiatric illness.
